It’s not easy being green.
But we’re here to help you anyway! The Traveling Turtle’s mission is to help be a model of sustainability, and hopefully to inspire others to live in a way that reduces their impact on the planet while pursuing the things they love. Check out the Go Green! page to find resources and ideas for how to be more environmentally conscious in your everyday life, whether you are trying to take little steps like starting to recycle your soda cans or shooting for the moon and committing to a zero-waste lifestyle.
I’ll give you a quick bit about me, if you were wondering (not likely, but it’s gotta go somewhere). My name is Austen Hughes, I’ve got degrees in Environmental Science and Mathematics from UNC Chapel Hill, and spend most of my time running, hiking swimming and working (not in that order, but I wish. I do have a day job). If you couldn’t tell already, some of my other hobbies include photography, a lot of reading (and some writing), and fixing/building things (mostly on Turtle, though I definitely know my way around a workshop. Thanks Dad). When I was five I wanted to be a paleontologist, but I’ve since changed my mind. So when grow up, I want to be– not ‘grown up'(Adults and careers are boring, let’s be honest). So far it’s coming along nicely.
If you have any questions, comments, ideas or suggestions, send them our way! Theetraveling.firstname.lastname@example.org would love to hear from you.
